The 2016 WRMC Restaurants Quality Recognition Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony has been held on Monday, the 25th of January, 2016 at the Portomaso Suite - Hilton Malta, being the fourth edition of this prestigious restaurant event.
320 guests from the Maltese Islands' top restaurants and hotels, plus representatives of the events sponsors and Commercial Partners, both local and from overseas, Italy and the Netherlands specifically, attended. The Guest of Honour for the event was the Hon. Dr. Chris Fearne, Parliamentary Secretary for Health.
Valletta Cruise Port plc, the WRMC’s (Wines and Restaurants of Malta.Com) Commercial Partner in its efforts to upgrade the Valletta Waterfront even further, has worked on the creation of a special WRMC restaurant award.
All Valletta Waterfront restaurants have been under adjudication during 2015, with the inspections completed by early January 2015. Inspections and adjudication are carried out in the most professional and internationally accepted manner and quality assurance criteria, which takes into consideration the complete dining experience with adjudication targeting primarily: cuisine quality – freshness of ingredients; preparation and presentation of individual dishes; attention to detail, use of fresh seasonal ingredients and taste; harmony of menu and concept; ambience; atmosphere and decor of both the al fresco as well as the internal restaurants; cleanliness and condition of restrooms; management – attitude and attention to clients’ needs; service – individual waiter service and efficiency; wine list – choice of good wines and reasonable mark-ups especially on local wines; overall value for menu. Awards are not simply conferred for the sake of giving an award, but the finalists to receive the accolade of the Best Restaurants at Valletta Waterfront.
