The Valletta Cruise Port Social Club, comprised of personnel at Valletta Cruise Port organised a ‘Back-to-School’ campaign in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Sebħ.
Fondazzjoni Sebħ provides residential and community services to children, families, and women together with their children who are escaping violence, striving to nurture an environment allowing for recovery, growth and fulfilment ensuring the dignity and value of each individual. The Foundation's mission is to accompany children and families in their journey towards reaching their full potential by providing community, residential, therapeutic and aftercare services.
The mission of Fondazzjoni Sebħ began in 1956 when the Archdiocese of Malta decided to coordinate the work done with children living in residential homes run by religious congregations. Today Fondazzjoni Sebħ runs Dar Fra Diego (Ħamrun), Dar San Nikola (Ħamrun), Dar Sagra Familja (Żabbar), Dar Santa Tereża (Żurrieq), Il-Milja, Community Family Services and Aftercare Services.
This drive targeted over 50 individuals from toddlers starting their school journey, to youths furthering their studies at higher education colleges and vocational institutions residing in these homes. With proper resources at their disposal, students find the confidence and joy to attend school and focus on their personal, academic and social needs. Items provided by the Valletta Cruise Port Social Club included essentials like backpacks, water bottles, pencil-cases and grade-appropriate school supplies and craft materials.
